Ensono, the US based IT services and modernisation company, has announced a $250 million investment to accelerate its AI and innovation capabilities in India over the next five years. The commitment will support the creation of a dedicated AI and Innovation division, strengthening engineering, data science, software development and business analysis functions across the company’s Indian operations.
The firm currently employs more than half of its global workforce of around 3,800 employees in India, operating Global Capability Centres in Pune alongside offices in Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. The new investment is aimed at advancing AI driven transformation for clients navigating cloud migration, infrastructure modernisation and data heavy enterprise workloads.
Company leaders noted that India has shifted from a traditional delivery location to a strategic innovation hub, offering depth of talent and a growing ecosystem for advanced AI solutions. The investment signals Ensono’s intention to embed AI across its services portfolio while expanding high value roles within its Indian teams.
The announcement represents a broader evolution in India’s technology landscape. Global firms are increasingly directing capital toward AI and advanced engineering functions in India rather than using the country solely for cost efficiency. This elevates India’s position in global innovation networks and expands opportunities for case studies, transformation narratives and strategic campaigns centred on the theme of India as an innovation powerhouse.
For enterprises, the move underscores how AI is becoming inseparable from infrastructure modernisation and operational efficiency. It also demonstrates that global players see India as essential for accelerating their own AI roadmaps.
As international companies double down on high value AI roles in the country, India’s position as a trusted, innovation led centre for AI development continues to strengthen.
