A10 Networks has announced A10 AI Gateway, an intelligent control plane designed to help enterprises centrally manage the use of AI agents, applications and large language models (LLMs). The solution is scheduled to become available in the fourth quarter of 2026.
As organisations expand their use of generative AI and AI agents across business applications, managing multiple AI providers and models is creating challenges around visibility, security, governance and costs. A10 AI Gateway is designed to address these requirements through unified AI traffic routing, access controls, usage monitoring and cost management.
The platform can evaluate the complexity and type of an AI request and automatically route it to an appropriate model. Simpler tasks can be directed towards more cost-efficient models, while workloads requiring advanced reasoning can be routed to more capable models. This approach is intended to help enterprises balance performance, latency and AI expenditure.
A10 AI Gateway also provides identity-based access controls by integrating with existing local directory systems. Organisations can establish different AI models, routing rules and usage policies for specific users or groups, enabling more granular governance across departments.
The platform provides real-time, per-request cost tracking in dollars, alongside per-model and per-team token budgets, hard spending limits, soft-limit alerts and usage controls. This gives enterprises centralised visibility into AI consumption and associated costs.
The gateway also integrates with A10 Networks' AI security portfolio, including TrojAI, A10 AI Firewall and ThreatX, extending security controls across pre-deployment testing, runtime protection, network and API layers.
A10 AI Gateway can be deployed as standalone software or with integrated hardware within on-premises, private-cloud and air-gapped environments. According to the company, this enables organisations to retain control over their AI models, data and policies while supporting data sovereignty.
“Enterprises are being asked to move fast on AI and stay in control at the same time,” said Dhrupad Trivedi, President and CEO, A10 Networks. He added that the gateway is designed to provide a centralised way to govern AI access, monitor usage and match requests with appropriate models and costs.
