FreJun, a cloud calling and voice infrastructure company, announced the launch of Teler, a programmable voice platform that enables software applications to make and receive phone calls, stream live conversations to AI systems in real time, and manage call flows through Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), webhooks and Software Development Kits (SDKs). Designed as a Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS), Teler is purpose-built for organisations developing and deploying AI-powered voice applications across sectors such as BFSI, healthcare, retail, logistics, education and customer service.
Enterprises are rapidly adopting AI-powered voice agents across customer support, sales, collections and appointment scheduling to automate customer interactions over phone calls. According to Deepgram's State of Voice AI Report 2025, 67 per cent of organisations now consider Voice AI core to their business strategy, while 84 per cent plan to increase investments in Voice AI over the next 12 months. As adoption moves from pilots to production, organisations require dependable telephony infrastructure capable of handling carrier connectivity, live audio streaming, call routing and real-time call control at scale. Teler addresses this gap by providing programmable voice infrastructure that enables developers and enterprises to build, deploy, and scale AI-powered voice applications without managing the underlying communications stack.
Teler abstracts the complexity of telecom infrastructure, enabling developers to build and deploy AI-powered voice applications through simple APIs. Imagine a customer calling a bank's AI-powered customer support number. When the call connects, Teler securely streams the live conversation to the bank's AI application in real time. The AI listens to the customer's request, responds instantly, and can perform actions such as playing information, transferring the call to a human agent if required, or recording the conversation, all through simple APIs. Throughout the call, Teler manages the underlying carrier connectivity, call routing and media streaming, allowing the bank's developers to focus on delivering the AI experience rather than managing complex telephony infrastructure. Once the call ends, recordings and event logs are available through APIs for analytics, compliance and workflow automation.
Commenting on the launch, Subhash Kalluri, Founder and CEO, FreJun, said, “Building a great AI model is only half the challenge; making it work reliably over real phone networks is what determines whether it succeeds in the real world. Many developers building voice applications still have to depend on communications infrastructure outside India, adding unnecessary complexity to deployment. We built Teler to simplify that experience with enterprise-grade voice infrastructure that is built in India and designed for global scale, so developers can spend less time managing telephony and more time building AI applications that create real business value."
The platform is initially available across India and the Middle East, with expansion into additional global markets planned
