TDK Corporation has expanded its B43645, B43657, B43658, B43659, B43660 and B43661 series of ultra-compact snap-in aluminium electrolytic capacitors to address the power supply requirements of advanced AI servers and high-performance switched-mode power supplies (SMPS).
The expanded capacitor series now offers rated DC voltages of up to 500 V, while maintaining compact dimensions. With diameters ranging from 22 mm to 35 mm and lengths from 25 mm to 100 mm, the components are designed to support higher power density and greater design flexibility in AI data-centre power infrastructure.
The six series cover capacitance values from 80 µF to 2,060 µF and can handle ripple currents of up to 5.39 A. They offer a service life of up to 5,000 hours at +105°C, supporting the continuous, high-load operating conditions associated with AI server environments.
According to TDK, the ultra-compact CV design helps reduce the component footprint while enabling power supply designers to develop smaller and more efficient systems. The capacitors feature an aluminium-can construction with PET sleeve, snap-in pins and integrated pressure relief mechanisms to support durability and operational reliability.
The components are also RoHS-compliant and have been vibration-tested in accordance with IEC 60068-2-6.
As AI workloads drive increasing demand for high-performance computing infrastructure, power supply efficiency and power density are becoming important considerations in data-centre design. TDK’s expanded capacitor portfolio is aimed at supporting these requirements by combining higher voltage capability with compact dimensions for AI server PSUs and other high-performance power electronics applications.
