Mythic AI, a semiconductor company developing analog compute-in-memory technology for highly energy-efficient AI inference, has announced its entry into India with the launch of its new Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. The new India centre will serve as a key product development and innovation hub, with plans to build a premier AI chip development team spanning VLSI (Very Large-Scale Integration) design, physical design, design-for-test, systems and applications engineering.
Mythic AI takes a fundamentally different approach to AI computing. Its analog compute-in-memory technology runs AI processing inside the memory itself, reducing the data movement between memory and processor that drives up energy use in conventional chips. The technology is designed to support AI applications across defence, enterprise LLMs, robotics and physical AI, and automotive and ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), where high-performance, energy-efficient inference is critical.
Its flagship Vanguard platform combines analog and digital computing on a single chiplet, delivering AI inference across automotive ADAS, defence, edge AI and data centres, with efficiency gains of up to 100x. A single Mythic AI rack is designed to deliver the same output as 650 conventional racks, significantly reducing the infrastructure footprint required for AI inference. The platform has also been validated for tactical-edge applications through Mythic AI’s strategic partnership with Lockheed Martin, demonstrating its potential in demanding, resource-constrained environments.
The launch comes at a time when India’s semiconductor ecosystem is gaining momentum, with Bengaluru emerging as a major hub for semiconductor design alongside growing clusters for manufacturing, advanced packaging, talent and R&D across the country. The automotive sector is also seeing greater demand for energy-efficient chip architectures as ADAS adoption expands, supported by the Rs 76,000 crore Semicon India Programme. Globally, the shift towards more efficient AI computing is accelerating, with in-memory computing and analog AI technologies expected to see significant growth over the coming decade. This convergence of semiconductor talent, automotive demand and next-generation AI architectures makes Bengaluru a strategic location for Mythic AI’s India expansion.
Mythic AI’s leadership brings deep NVIDIA roots to its India expansion. Dr. Taner Ozcelik, Chairman & CEO, Mythic AI, is the former Vice President and General Manager of NVIDIA’s Automotive Division, where he worked closely with NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang to build and scale the automotive business and pioneer the commercialisation of autonomous technologies. As part of its India expansion, Mythic AI’s India team will be led by Manoj Kumar, Vice President, Mythic India, from Bengaluru. The team is expected to quadruple in size by Q1 2027, further strengthening the company’s engineering capabilities and enabling greater ownership of critical product development initiatives from Bengaluru.
