Apple has unveiled the next generation of Apple Intelligence and introduced Siri AI, a significantly enhanced version of its virtual assistant, as part of a broad software update announced during its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
The updates, which will be rolled out across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro, and other Apple devices, aim to make interactions more personalised, context-aware, and productive while maintaining a strong focus on user privacy.
At the centre of the announcement is Siri AI, an entirely redesigned assistant that leverages a new Apple Intelligence architecture. The upgraded Siri can understand personal context, search across messages, emails, photos, and other content, and perform actions across applications with greater autonomy. It can also answer questions about content displayed on a user's screen and access up-to-date information from the web to generate relevant responses.
Apple said the new Siri experience is powered by a privacy-focused architecture designed to protect user data while enabling more advanced AI capabilities. A dedicated Siri application will allow users to revisit previous conversations, start new interactions, and synchronise conversation history privately across Apple devices through iCloud.
"Apple products are an essential part of people's lives, and this year we're bringing powerful new capabilities to empower our users in even more ways," said Craig Federighi, Apple's Senior Vice President of Software Engineering.
"We're delivering the next generation of Apple Intelligence across our platforms; introducing Siri AI, a profoundly more intelligent, knowledgeable, and capable Siri; expanding child safety features with intuitive new tools for families; and making our software platforms faster, more reliable, and more delightful than ever before," he added.
Beyond AI enhancements, Apple also announced new child safety features aimed at helping families create safer digital experiences for children. The company said the updates will provide parents with more intuitive tools to manage online interactions and device usage.
The software releases will be available across Apple's operating systems, including iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27. Apple says the updates will deliver improved performance, refined user experiences, and deeper AI integration throughout its ecosystem.
The announcement reflects Apple's growing focus on embedding generative AI capabilities directly into its products while differentiating itself through on-device intelligence, privacy protections, and seamless integration across hardware and software platforms.
With Siri AI, Apple joins the intensifying race among technology companies to redefine digital assistants through advanced artificial intelligence, positioning the assistant as a more capable productivity and knowledge tool for everyday users.
