BPL Medical Technologies, one of India’s leading medical technology companies, marked a major advancement in preventive healthcare delivery with its AI-integrated imaging solutions; India’s first smart mobile cancer screening bus, reinforcing its commitment to taking advanced diagnostic technologies beyond hospital walls and closer to communities.
The mobile cancer screening unit was launched in Hyderabad’s Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute, with Nandamuri Balakrishna, Chairman of the institute, formally flagging off the initiative. The launch event was attended by members of the hospital’s trust board, senior leadership, clinicians, and healthcare professionals.
Powered by AI-enabled mobile digital radiography and digital mammography systems from BPL Medical Technologies, the unit is designed to deliver high-quality screening services in non-traditional care settings. Its mobile format enables outreach across rural and low-access regions, addressing gaps in access to diagnostic infrastructure and supporting earlier identification of cancer cases.
Designed for sustained outreach, the mobile cancer screening bus supports community-level programmes focused on early identification of breast and other cancers, with an emphasis on preventive care and improved patient outcomes.
Commenting on the same, Dr Shravan Subramanyam, Managing Director, BPL Medical Technologies, shared, “Early detection is one of the most effective tools in the fight against cancer, and technology has a critical role to play in making it accessible. With the deployment of this AI-integrated mobile cancer screening unit, BPL Medical Technologies is enabling high-quality imaging to reach communities that are often beyond the formal healthcare network. This initiative reflects our commitment to building scalable, impactful solutions that support preventive care and improve patient outcomes.”
Building on its recent innovations showcased at IRIA 2026, BPL Medical Technologies continues to strengthen its role as a technology partner for healthcare institutions seeking scalable, AI-driven diagnostic solutions. The deployment of the mobile cancer screening bus represents the company’s broader vision to combine clinical relevance with technological leadership in addressing India’s evolving healthcare needs.
