The Government of Andhra Pradesh has entered into a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA to advance the establishment of a dedicated Artificial Intelligence (AI) University in the State. The partnership aims to build a vibrant AI ecosystem focused on education, research, innovation, and startup development.
Under this initiative, both parties will jointly train 10,000 engineering students across Andhra Pradesh over the next two years. NVIDIA will contribute by providing curriculum design support, training modules, and technical resources to empower faculty and students with in-demand AI skills.
Beyond skill development, the partnership also emphasizes research and development excellence. NVIDIA will help identify and set up AI research centers dedicated to addressing real-world challenges through AI-driven solutions. The collaboration will encourage joint research projects that contribute to advancing India’s AI capabilities.
Highlighting the significance of the agreement, IT Minister Nara Lokesh said the program would help shape a future-ready workforce and strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s position as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. “By equipping 10,000 students with advanced AI skills and fostering startup growth, we are building the foundation of an innovation-driven economy,” he said.
NVIDIA will also guide the State in developing the high-performance computing infrastructure required for the AI University, helping identify the right tools, software frameworks, and hardware to support world-class teaching and research.
Vishal Dhupar, Managing Director for Asia South at NVIDIA, noted, “Our goal is to create a model that can inspire similar initiatives across India.”
A major component of the MoU involves knowledge exchange on establishing next-generation AI Factories—innovation hubs that integrate cutting-edge technology with industry collaboration and talent incubation. Drawing on its global expertise, NVIDIA will provide insights into designing and operationalizing these facilities.
Entrepreneurship will also be a key focus. The State government plans to support up to 500 AI-driven startups from Andhra Pradesh in applying to the NVIDIA Inception Program, which offers access to NVIDIA’s international network, mentorship, and go-to-market opportunities.
This collaboration is expected to accelerate the growth of the State’s AI and startup ecosystem, creating a strong foundation for sustained innovation and digital transformation.
