Saint-Gobain has appointed Annica Hagen as Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO) and member of the Group Executive Committee, effective September 1, 2026. The newly created role is aimed at accelerating the company’s AI strategy and supporting its broader “Lead & Grow” strategic objectives.
In her new role, Hagen will lead Saint-Gobain’s AI ambitions and oversee the structuring, prioritisation and scaling of existing AI initiatives across the Group’s countries and businesses.
The appointment reflects Saint-Gobain’s strategy to position artificial intelligence as a strategic enabler for sustainable growth. The company plans to use AI to support innovation, optimise operations and enhance value creation for customers, while aligning AI deployment with its “Lead & Grow” priorities.
Hagen brings experience from leadership positions at international and Swedish companies. She joined Saint-Gobain in 2023 and has held senior leadership roles within the company’s Building Distribution business in Sweden, followed by the position of CEO Distribution for the Nordic and Baltic region.
As CAIO, Hagen will be responsible for strengthening coordination between the Group’s existing AI initiatives and identifying opportunities to scale successful applications across markets and business units.
The creation of a dedicated CAIO position underscores the growing importance of AI within Saint-Gobain’s transformation strategy, with the company seeking to move from individual AI initiatives towards a more structured and scalable approach to adoption across its global operations.
